The cylinder switch is a 3/2-way valve controlled via the magnetic piston of a cylinder. It can be used to control pneumatic circuits, where it is very difficult to design and fit a limit switch. In contrast to a pneumatic sensor fitting, similar to an electric cylinder switch, a pneumatic cylinder switch allows querying the exact position of the piston and need not be positioned in the end position.
