Festo Grippers

Festo offers a series of pneumatic and electric grippers for a wide variety of applications. The mechanical grippers are differentiated according to gripping principle. There are bellows grippers, which grip through the deformation of an elastic bellows, parallel grippers, whose gripping movement is done by parallel moving fingers, three-point grippers, which centre when gripping the object and angeled or radial grippers, which hold the gripped object through a pivoting movement of the gripper fingers. The far and away most used gripper shape is the parallel gripper DHPS or HGPT due to its simple geometry. Isolators are required for the separation of the material supply of the gripper and round out the product range

Festo Vacuum technologies

Festo supplies a well rounded range of vacuum technologies. This ranges from vacuum generators to vacuum gripper technology and vacuum suction. The vacuum generators are designed as ejectors (one or multi stage) with and without auxiliary valves or pressure switches. They can be operated either as single devices or combined in assemblies. Festo vacuum suction can be ordered either with or without holder. You have the choice between a wide variety of suction materials, e.g. NBR, silicone or polyurethane (often also called TPE-U), which can be selected depending on application case. In addition to the main products, you will also find in the Festo product range some accessory products such as balance elements, vacuum filters, vacuum suction valves or vacuum meters, which round out the program.

Festo Valves

At Festo, valves are divided into electrically pneumatically actuated directional control valves (e.g. CPE, Tiger 2000 and Tiger Classic) and mechanically or manually actuated directional control valves (e.g. Valves with M5 connection or Valves with G1/8 connection). These can be used, for example, to control pneumatic cylinders. In addition, there are flow control valves and pressure control valves (mechanically actuated) that control a manually set pressure or flow, proportional valves that control pressure or flow electronically, 2/2-way process valves as solenoid valves, angle seat valves VZXA as well as VZXF or (pneumatically actuated) ball valves and pneumatic control elements such as counters, timers or two-hand control blocks. In addition to the manually operated valves, the stop valves also include logic valves as well as check valves and quick exhaust valves. You will also find useful accessories such as connection plates, solenoid coils or actuator attachments.

Festo Valve Terminals

Festo is known for valve terminals! In addition to the application-specific valve terminals (metering head VTOE), we also offer electrical peripherals such as the Terminal for CPX. We also have accessories such as valves and elements for electrical interlinking (including the MPA-S). These are mostly assemblies of valves with different functions, which are interlocked either with or without a base plate. The electrical connection, supply of compressed air and disposal of exhaust air are usually combined so that the installation effort is minimised. The valve terminals are usually controlled via bus systems or multi-pin connection cables and the wearing parts = valves can be replaced quickly and easily in case of repair.

Festo Sensoric

Festo sensors are ideal for sensing the end position of a cylinder (magnetic cylinder switches), detecting an end position inductively (inductive proximity switches for T-groove, SMT-8M-A or SME-8M), determining an absolute cylinder position (displacement sensors), determining pressures or flow rates or switching on the basis of these (e.g. pressure switches SDE5, PE, PEV, VPE, VPEV), measuring forces, detecting a position using optical sensors (optoelectronic sensors, reflectors) or determining the position of a rotary drive for ball valves inductively or by means of microswitches (sensor boxes SRBC). The installation of cylinder switches is simple. They are usually inserted into a standardised groove in the cylinder profile.

Compressed Air Treatment with Festo

Festo compressed air preparation essentially consists of service units that can be coupled, such as filter regulators (including the MS series), filters, filter cartridges, pressure regulators and lubricators, which are combined with on/off valves/pressure build-up valves and distributors to form service units. The most frequently used maintenance unit is a combination of filter regulator and lubricator (often also called „FR-L“ or 2-part maintenance unit). Since in many applications the addition of oil is not necessary or even harmful, the lubricator is often dispensed with and only a filter regulator is used. At a filter or filter regulator, the condensate can be drained off via automatic drain valves, but must not get into the waste water in this way. We recommend oil-water separators here. In addition, you will also find accessories such as mounting elements in our selection.

Pneumatic connection technology

Festo offers a connection technology range condensed to the essential products. It starts with hoses (e.g. externally calibrated hoses such as PUN/PUN-DUO or PUN-H/PUN-H-DUO) and continues with fittings (push-in fittings from the QSM Mini series or the standard QS series, conduit fittings and threaded fittings, e.g. blind plugs) to quick-release couplings such as the KS coupling plug and tubing accessories. We recommend taking a look at our extensive standard range, which is much larger in terms of material selection and number of variants.

Electrical connection technology

In addition to pneumatic connection technology, Festo also offers electrical connection technology. The cables required for the electrical connection of the products, such as connection lines for valves NEBV, KMEB and KMF and many more, can therefore be found in our extensive range. In addition, you will also find connectors of the MSSD series and cable glands. Pre-assembled cables with valve connectors can considerably reduce the effort required for valve cabling!

Servo-pneumatic positioning systems

Servopneumatic positioning systems usually consist of a drive (pneumatic cylinder or rotary drive), a displacement encoder such as the MLO-POT-LWG or angle measurement system, a control unit (controller) such as the axial controller CPX-CMAX and a proportional way valve. In addition, you will find sensor interfaces as well as cables and accessories in our range. These individual components can be connected to each other and thus enable a drive to be positioned freely or to perform a soft stop. They combine the advantages of pneumatics (e.g. blockade tolerance) with the controllability of electric drives.

Electromechanical actuators

We supply electromechanical actuators for linear movements as electric cylinders, spindle axes EGC-BS, ELGC-BS, ELGA-BS-KF toothed belt axes or slides as well as rotary modules/rotary drives for rotary movements. In addition, we offer stopper cylinders, electrical handling modules and the appropriate accessories. In all drives, the movement is carried out using electrical energy instead of the pneumatic energy source with which Festo is familiar. Electric drives have significant advantages over pneumatic components in some applications (e.g. simple positioning, constant travel speeds, smooth starting and stopping and high repeat accuracy. In contrast, pneumatics are characterised by favourable price, simple construction, easy control and, above all, tolerance to blockage.

Motors and Controller

In addition to electromechanical drives, Festo also supplies electric servomotors such as the EMME-AS and stepper motors including controllers. The motors are controlled by special controllers that are either integrated directly into the motor or available as separate components. In order to adapt speeds or torques, Festo offers flange-mountable (planetary) gearboxes to match the motors.

Handling systems

Festo offers you a variety of handling systems for a wide range of applications. From standard solutions for all common applications to individual solutions. We offer you the handling modules HSP and HSW as well as the matching accessories such as basic elements for handling and assembly technology. We support you from project planning to assembly and commissioning. Adapter kits and installation elements for handling units with which handling systems can be set up.

Motion Terminal

The Festo Motion Terminal uses a holistic concept approach for energy-efficient operation. Low-energy basic technologies consisting of piezo valves were developed to control the main valve stages. They enable proportional pilot control with minimal energy consumption. Compared to the widely used conventional solenoid valves, the energy consumption for pilot control can thus be reduced by up to 90%. In our programme you will find Motion Apps as well as accessories for the Motion Terminal in the form of SDAP position sensors and CTMM input modules.

Image processing systems

The Festo image processing systems are versatile and safe in every sense. We offer industrial image processing from Festo for almost all industries and applications: Be inspired by where and how you can use these cameras. With the SRB control units, SBPB camera heads, SBSI vision sensors, SBOx-M and SBOx-Q compact camera systems, the Checkbox Compact CHB-C-N and the associated accessories such as the SBAP protection tube, we offer you a comprehensive selection of Festo machine vision systems.
